Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to review my application?

We aim to review within 5 working days. In exceptional circumstances, it may take up to 10 working days.

What if I disagree with the Committee's decision?

You may appeal within 10 working days. Your appeal will be reviewed by an independent arbitrator external to Da Birthday Club, who will make a final, binding decision. Arbitration costs (typically $500–$1,000) are usually shared 50-50 between you and the Club.

Can I withdraw a partial amount?

Yes. You may request a partial withdrawal if that's all you need. Your remaining balance will continue to be held until your birthday.

What if I am denied but still need the money?

After your hardship appeal is resolved, if you still need funds, other options include asking family/friends for help or contacting a community support organisation such as a budgeting service or your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

Is there a cost to applying?

No. There is no cost to submit a hardship application. If your application is approved, your normal $11.11 issuance fee applies at payout. If you appeal a denial, arbitration costs are typically shared.
